This project, out of the University of Utah, features interactive timelines and maps, data visualizations, and biographies of nearly one hundred Black Mormons from 1830-1930. The biographies include key dates for baptisms and temple ordinances, as well as a narrative with full bibliographic information.
Created by independent scholars, this project tackles the theology, history, and controversies of plural marriage as taught and practiced by Joseph Smith. Subjects are approached through a series of short essays and narrative biographies of Smith’s wives. The project is written from a faithful perspective.
