“At 11:30 a.m. met by appointment President Robert O. Hatch and his counselors, James D. Hoggan, and Adonis H. Nielsen, of the Burley Stake.

Card Playing

How strict should the Stake authorities be in exacting compliance from ward and stake officers?  I explained the necessity of officers of the Church up-holding General and Stake authorities of the Church.  That it is not a question of argument; it is a question of conforming to the teaching of the leaders, and since card playing is condemned by these leaders, the officers should be willing to refrain from playing cards.  Before releasing anyone for this violation, the Stake Presidency should consider each case on its merits.
