Dallin H. Oaks delivered the 2021 Joseph Smith Lecture on Religious Liberty on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 at 7:00PM. His lecture was entitled, “Going Forward with Religious Freedom & Nondiscrimination.”
Dallin H. Oaks has been the First Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since January 2018. Oaks has been an officer or member of the board of many business, educational, and charitable organizations. He is the author or co-author of many books and articles on religious and legal subjects. In May 2013, the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty awarded him the Canterbury Medal for “courage in the defense of religious liberty.”
President Oaks touched on current national divisions and pathways forward with nondiscrimination and legislation. The lecture has already been covered in articles by the Salt Lake Tribune and Religion News Service.
