Miller Center, UVA

Get directions

Professor Flake appeared on the Miller Center’s American Forum television broadcast, discussing the question of whether religious freedom can survive among an ever-increasing plurality of faiths. How might Thomas Jefferson have responded to Mormonism, and its perceived threats, had he been president in 1844?

Prof. Flake addresses these questions along with Peter Onuf, in an interview by Douglas Blackmon.
