Dr. Maffly-Kipp Talks about Mormonism and Africa on “Mormon Land,”the Salt Lake Tribune Podcast
This week, the director of UVA Mormon Studies, Laurie Maffly-Kipp, joined The Salt Lake Tribune Podcast, Mormon Land to discuss the rapid growth of Mormonism in Africa. Maffly-Kipp, along with hosts Peggy Fletcher Stack and David Noyce, discussed a variety of topics, including the unique appeal of the American-born faith on the continent and why some Africans think of the religion as a “woman’s church.”
Maffly-Kipp explored similar topics in her recent Joseph Smith Lecture, “Mormonism Through an African Lens.” You can listen to the audio, read the transcript, and view event photos on our website.
