Prince’s Research Excerpts on “LDS General Handbooks” Now Available as a Digital Resource
University of Virginia, Mormon Studies Program
Dr. Gregory Prince’s research excerpts on the topic of “LDS General Handbooks” are now available as a digital resource on our Mormon Studies website. These excerpts were compiled and organized by Dr. Prince in preparation for several of his books, particularly Gay Rights and the Mormon Church: Intended Actions, Unintended Consequences and David O. McKay and the Rise of Modern Mormonism.
Prince’s research materials cover a wide range of topics, including the evolution, application, and adaptive capacity of LDS doctrine, policy, and practice in the 20th Century. We believe this resource will be particularly interesting and useful to Mormon Studies scholars, Religious Studies faculty and students, as well as anyone with an interest in the evolution and innovation of religious doctrine.
This resource is part of a larger series of Prince Collection digital resources, which also includes the David O. McKay and Leonard Arrington diaries, as well as research excerpts on Gay Rights & Mormonism from Dr. Prince’s book, Gay Rights and the Mormon Church: Intended Actions, Unintended Consequences and on Priesthood and Mormonism and Temples and Mormonism, both from his book, Power from on High: The Development of Mormon Priesthood. Dr. Prince’s research materials are also available in hard copy as part of our Mormon Studies Collection at the UVA Library.
