Notes

Hicks marriage performed by "Rev Ira Spaulding." An account of her life is at https://familysearch.org/patron/v2/TH-301-44484-97-69/dist.pdf?ctx=ArtCtxPublic (copy on file) It appears she never lived with Kimball, but stayed with her family until she married Hicks, who dies in 1868 this is about four years after she leaves him and returns to Utah. " Another fact that surfaced through our research is that on 15 Nov 1869, Charlotte married William Wilkinson Dixon for time only in the Endowment House. The Register lists her as Charlotte Chase (Kimball.) The actual status of this marriage is unknown. William Dixon was a neighbor in Harrisville. His descendants do not have further details or information of this marriage, and it was dissolved on 13 February 1871. The reason for the divorce states that she was "Sealed to Heber C. Kimball." Her next marriage, Tyrus Hurd, was a friend of her deceased husband.
